Little did we know that making the move to CO nearly four years ago would be a life saver for us. We are surrounded by national forest and a national park, so the opportunities to get out and enjoy nature without another living soul in sight are endless. I think there were only two other photographers at this spot earlier this summer, shooting the sunrise, and we were all shooting from different spots along the lake, so no face masks were necessary .
I LOVE the outdoors, and the mountains are my happy place. Many years ago, we visited the Canadian Rockies, and we instantly fell in love with what the mountains have to offer, from breathtaking scenery to countless wildlife opportunities. I remember traveling through a small town in British Columbia, Radium Hot Springs, where the sign that welcomes you to town says, “Mountains bring peace to the people.”. That quote and John Muir’s quote, “The mountains are calling and I must go” have resonated with me ever since. Whether it's shooting landscapes or wildlife, I find such a sense of peace and solitude just being there in the moment. Nourishment for the soul....a reminder for me that life is good.
